Riots Communities and Victims Panel extends call for evidence deadline
Today, Monday 6 February, marks six months since the riots broke out in Tottenham before spreading across London and the rest of the country.
Darra Singh, Chair of the Riots Communities and Victims Panel said:
“It has been six months since the August riots. Half a year on we must not forget about the communities and victims who were seriously affected by the disorder.
“The Riots Communities and Victims Panel’s interim report, which sets out why the riots happened, was published in November.
“We’ve asked for feedback on our interim report and we are still receiving comments from people in affected communities. As a result, our national call for evidence has now been extended to 1 March.
“This is a Panel for the people. So, if you were affected and have a view on the cause of the riots, or how we can work together to prevent future riots please get in touch.
“Your views will be vital in helping to shape the recommendations we will make to Party Leaders, in our final report due at the end of March.”
Details of how to send your views to the Panel can be found on the Have your say (external link) page of our interim report.
